In 2018, Bastiaan van de Rakt, Maarten Stolk and Nick Jetten founded Enjins in Utrecht with a clear thesis: data science was stuck in proof-of-concept mode. Companies cared about model accuracy but not about getting models into production. There was a gap between data scientists and the engineering reality of running AI at scale.

Enjins was built to close that gap — combining a software engineering mindset with deep ML expertise, focused on ClimateTech, Mobility and Marketplaces.

Within six months, Enjins was live with AI solutions at scale-ups including Goboony, SnappCar and Wonderkind. The company grew steadily, opened a second hub at the Merantix AI Campus in Berlin, and has since helped 100+ innovative companies productionize AI.

Enjins also became the seedbed for Deeploy — the runtime AI governance platform co-founded by the same team in 2020, born directly from patterns seen across hundreds of AI deployments.
